"No pictures, please!"

So, I've told you that Jonah is a pretty happy kid and really doesn't have stranger anxiety, right? Well, apparently that doesn't apply to professional photographers. We were at JCPenney at the mall. He was just fine, then I set him down for pics and he screamed bloody murder. I tried to calm him down, but he just kept crying and holding out his arms for me to pick him up, which I did and he calmed down. (Which reminds me of the funny Seinfeld bit I already posted in October about the kids world being "up" and the parents world being "down". Ha Ha! 2 mins into it if you want to hear...click!) We tried again...nope. The girl said I could come back in a little while. So we went to see Santa since hardly anyone is there yet. Lydia was so excited about that part all day! Until we saw him, that is. She wouldn't even look at him, so I took Jonah up to him to show her (and he didn't care), but I wasn't fooling her at all. (I gotta tell ya that he had the best Santa face I face ever seen!) Santa gave me the crayons & booklet for her and we went on our way. So no pictures there either. Of course, when we were a few store-lengths away, she waved him and turned shyly away when he waved back. :) She's such a sweetie. Then it was back to JCP where we tried again with no luck and walked out with nothin'. Weird that my baby with stranger anxiety was an angel for every pro pic and my baby without it wanted nothing to do with it. Huh. I guess I'll try my own pro session and see if that works. And we're going back soon for family pics, so maybe then.

In October, my brother-in-law, JD, was the star of a film that his friends made for a Phoenix-area short film festival. The top 20 were shown on an AMC big screen and they got 15th place out of around 50! Great job guys! (And Shauna & JD's dog, Roxy, made her debut, too!) Maybe we'll have another Jon Heder on our hands! :) Click to see their movie, "Antiques". They also made another short film this month for a LDS Young Single Adult film festival that got 2nd place out of 20! JD has a short cameo in it and so does my youngest sister, Ali (long blonde hair, striped shirt), and her boyfriend, Keith (standing behind Ali). Click to see "Death Wish". (They are only around 5 min long.)

Thanks for the warning...taking pictures with our new little guy isn't too far off, I'm sure.
Oh, and...cool movies!

So a fear of professional photographers and Santa, huh. That is funny.

That sounds like Ella. I have finally given up on getting great pictures of her. I just tell the person to take the picture so we can get out of there! In Ella's 18 month and 2 year pics her eyes are all red. Oh well, that is just Ella!!
